- What is an SOS paper bag?
- SOS stands for self-opening sack—a flat-bottom paper bag with gusseted sides that opens into a rectangular base and stands upright on its own. It is widely used in delis, groceries, and food service for quick packing.
- How do I read the SOS bag sizes on this page?
- Width × height × side gusset, in inches. So 5.9 × 11 × 3.5 in is 5.9 in across the mouth, 11 in tall, with a 3.5 in gusset that opens into the flat bottom as the bag fills. Many SOS suppliers list the same bag height-first, as 11 × 5.9 × 3.5 in—check the order before you compare.
- What is the difference between Logo Print and Full-Bleed Print?
- Logo Print puts your artwork in one fixed position on the bag face and leaves the side gussets unprinted. Because the print setup is simpler, it starts at 500 units. Full-Bleed Print covers the whole bag, edge to edge and across the gussets, and starts at 20,000 units. Both are full-color CMYK on brown or white kraft—the difference is how much of the bag carries your design, and that is what sets the minimum order.
- Why does Full-Bleed Print start at 20,000 units?
- Printing to the edge means more plate setup, more ink coverage, and more waste at the start and end of a run, so it only becomes economical over a long run. Under 20,000 units, Logo Print is the option that exists. If you want all-over artwork below that quantity, contact us and we will quote it separately.
- What sizes and materials are available?
- Nine sizes in total, from 3.5 × 5.9 × 2.4 in for pastries and small orders up to 11 × 11 × 5.9 in for bulk grocery. Seven of them are offered on Logo Print, eight on Full-Bleed Print, and six on both—pick a print option and this page shows the sizes it covers. Every size comes in natural brown or bright white kraft at the same price.
- What paper weight are these bags?
- 60 gsm kraft on the seven sizes up to 9.8 × 13 × 5.5 in, and 80 gsm on the two largest sizes—8.3 × 16 × 5.3 in and 11 × 11 × 5.9 in—which carry more weight. The weight follows the size, so there is nothing to choose: pick your size and the right stock comes with it.
- Is brown more expensive than white?
- No. Brown and white kraft use the same price table for every size and quantity tier. Choose whichever suits your branding—dark, high-contrast marks read best on brown.
- Can I print in full color on brown kraft SOS bags?
- Yes. Unlike some suppliers that limit brown kraft to spot color only, Ecoally supports full-color CMYK logo printing on both brown and white SOS bags. White ink on brown or special print placements can be quoted on request.
- Are these bags food-safe and recyclable?
- Bags use water-based, food-safe ink and matte uncoated paper suited to food service packaging. Both brown and white kraft are recyclable; recycled-content kraft is available. Food-contact documentation can be provided on request.
- What is the minimum order quantity?
- It depends on the print you choose. Logo Print starts at 500 units, with breaks at 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, and 10,000. Full-Bleed Print starts at 20,000, with breaks at 25,000, 30,000, 40,000, and 50,000. Per-bag cost falls at every tier within a print option.
- Does the price include shipping?
- Yes. Every tier on this page is a delivered price with freight to the US already included—the order total you see at your chosen size and quantity is what you pay.
- Can I print my logo on SOS bags?
- Yes. Exterior logo printing (typically one side) is included on this listing. Submit your logo after checkout and our team prepares a flexo/digital proof showing CMYK placement before production starts.
- When should I choose foil-lined SOS bags instead?
- Choose standard SOS bags for general retail and dry or lightly greasy items. Choose our foil-lined SOS listing when you need a grease- and moisture-resistant interior for hot food, fried items, or heavier takeout.
- How long does production take?
- Standard production is typically 25–30 business days after proof approval. Express timelines around 15–20 business days may be available—contact us for rush orders on large quantities.
